How Much Does a Wyoming Lemon Law Claim Cost?

What a Wyoming lemon-law claim costs — a free manufacturer IDS, plus attorney fees recovered through the lemon law's own provision and Magnuson-Moss, so usually nothing out of pocket.

A Wyoming lemon-law claim is low-cost to pursue: any manufacturer IDS is free, and attorney fees are recoverable through the lemon law’s own provision and Magnuson-Moss.

The manufacturer IDS — free

If the manufacturer has a qualifying informal dispute settlement program, it is free to the consumer and a prerequisite to the statutory remedy (§ 40-17-101). Wyoming has no state board.

Court — fees are recoverable

  • Wyoming Lemon Law § 40-17-101 — the lemon law’s own fee provision lets you recover reasonable attorney fees from the manufacturer. This is the primary fee engine.
  • Magnuson-Moss § 2310(d)(2) — a reliable second fee basis. See Magnuson-Moss.

Note: the Wyoming Consumer Protection Act does not award fees in individual cases — so the lemon law’s own fees and Magnuson-Moss matter all the more.

So attorneys take meritorious cases on contingency: no fee upfront, costs advanced, fees recovered from the manufacturer. See attorney fees.

What you recover

  • Replacement or refund (manufacturer’s election) with a reasonable use allowance.
  • Attorney fees (lemon law § 40-17-101 + Magnuson-Moss).
  • Actual damages under the Consumer Protection Act where deception is shown.

Bottom line

The manufacturer IDS is free; court costs you nothing out of pocket on contingency, with fees recovered through the lemon law’s own provision and Magnuson-Moss. Get a free case review.
