He earned his Juris Doctorate from John Marshall University School of Law in Atlanta, Georgia in 1970 and was admitted to the West Virginia State Bar and the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia that same year. Prior to his legal career, George earned his Bachelor of Science from Salem College in 1964 and attended Greenbrier Military School in Lewisburg from 1955 to 1958. Beyond his law practice, he has maintained licenses as an auctioneer and real estate broker in West Virginia for over 50 years and has organized community auctions, including 4-H and FFA events, for similar length of time.

Virginia A. Lemon joined her father's practice in October 2013, bringing experience in bankruptcy and public interest law. She received her Juris Doctorate from Faulkner University Thomas Goode Jones School of Law in Montgomery, Alabama in 2013, where she served as President of the Jones Public Interest Law Foundation and earned the school's Distinguished Public Interest Fellow Award and the Alabama State Bar Pro Bono Award. During law school, Virginia gained federal bankruptcy experience as an extern for Judge William R. Sawyer of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Alabama and interned with Legal Services Alabama and Mountain State Justice in Charleston. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Marshall University and previously worked as a personal banker in Lewisburg.
