Attorney Dietrich A. Lake founded the practice with a distinctive background that informs his approach to representation. After earning his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Lander University in 1992, he worked as a claims adjuster for Seibels Bruce Insurance Company and later for Cigna Insurance Company, where he negotiated settlements of bodily injury and property damage claims. He then attended the University of South Carolina School of Law, graduating with his Jurist Doctorate in 2001.

Following law school, Mr. Lake served as an Assistant-Solicitor (prosecutor) in Richland County, where he built an extensive trial practice. By 2002, he was promoted to a team leader overseeing seven prosecutors and successfully handling burglaries, drug offenses, DUI matters, and fraud prosecution. He was subsequently promoted to a task force team where he successfully prosecuted murder cases, armed and unarmed robbery, assault and battery with intent to kill, and first-degree burglary charges. This prosecutorial experience equipped him to defend clients effectively in criminal matters and to understand how the state builds its cases.

Mr. Lake entered private practice in January 2008 and has since obtained significant settlements for clients in auto accidents, work-related injuries, slip and fall cases, and other personal injury claims. He has also successfully litigated civil trials to judgment on behalf of his clients. In criminal defense, he has defended individuals accused of drug violations, driving under the influence, crimes of violence, and theft-related offenses.
