Courtney N. Harris is a lifelong Shreveport resident who earned her Bachelor of Administration degree in Organizational Management from Wiley College in Marshall, Texas, followed by an Associate degree in Paralegal Studies from Southern University–Shreveport. She obtained her Juris Doctorate from Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge, where she also completed a Master's degree in Public Administration from the Nelson Mandela School of Public Policy at Southern University A&M College.

Before establishing her private practice, Harris gained substantial legal experience in the public and judicial sectors. She served as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Shreveport and worked as a Judicial Law Clerk for the First Judicial District Court, clerking for Judge Ramona Emanuel and Judge Karelia Stewart. During law school, she also served as Administrative Assistant to Judge John Michael Guidry during his tenure at the First Circuit Court of Appeal in Baton Rouge.

Harris has been recognized as one of SB Magazine's Top 40 Attorneys for the Shreveport-Bossier area for seven consecutive years, from 2019 through 2025. Beyond her law practice, she holds a license as a Title Producer in Louisiana and works as a closing attorney for Main Street Title, LLC in Shreveport. She currently serves as an elected Democratic Parish Executive Committee Member for District 2 in Caddo Parish and is a former President of the Women's Section of the Shreveport Bar Association.
