She obtained her Juris Doctorate from Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge, where she also completed a Master's degree in Public Administration from the Nelson Mandela School of Public Policy at Southern University A&M College.
Before establishing her private practice, Harris gained substantial legal experience in the public and judicial sectors. She served as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Shreveport and worked as a Judicial Law Clerk for the First Judicial District Court, clerking for Judge Ramona Emanuel and Judge Karelia Stewart. During law school, she also served as Administrative Assistant to Judge John Michael Guidry during his tenure at the First Circuit Court of Appeal in Baton Rouge.
